Top 5

I’ve been really slack with music since I got sick, I haven’t got any new music for ages and I haven’t been listening to as much either. But with the release of the new La Coka Nostra coming up, I’m getting back into it and it feels good. So here are my top 5 MC’s & albums – the artists I most enjoy listening to and the albums that I actually play start to finish. This is purely just my taste, and I’d love to know yours! Especially if it puts me onto something new 🙌🏻
Top 5 Artists:

Eazy-E

He just had so much charisma, you could listen to him rap ingredients of a soup tin and it would still be banging.

The Notorious B.I.G.

He’s the G.O.A.T for a reason.

Spice 1

He had such a good ear for beats, which IMO a lot of good artists don’t and it’s disappointing. Spice 1 just went hard all the time.

Immortal Technique

Everyone has mixed opinions on Tech, but I love him. Every song is a banger, you can actually listen to his albums, even his mixtapes, start to finish which you can’t say for most others.

Ill Bill

Ill Bill will always have a special place in my heart, he was my introduction to hip hop at the age of 12 and like Eazy E, I could listen to him rap anything.

New favourite: Freddie Gibbs 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Top 5 Albums:

The Future Is Now – Non Phixion

I can never pick if I love the normal version (technical term there) or the instrumental more. Flawless start to finish and an absolute classic.

Anything Wu-Tang Related

This is a cop out but Liquid Swords, Supreme Clientele, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), how do you choose?!

Living Proof – Group Home

This is a bit more chilled out than what I usually prefer, but it’s perfect start to finish.

Revolutionary Vol. 2 – Immortal Technique

This for the pure fact that I still love it as much as I did the first time I heard it. Can’t wait to get my hands on the next album.

Everything’s Awesome – Vanderslice

Vanderslice is my favourite producer and this is my husbands favourite album of mine, making it one of my most played albums.

Notable mention: La Coka Nostra’s ‘Masters of the Dark Arts’ 🔥🔥🔥

What’s your top 5?
